910 SSS Bluebird question
Rick you splice it into the wires from the plug on your ignition
barrel.
The turbo timer just keeps the voltage
up on the key-switched "IGN" circuit when you turn the key off, basically
just tricking the car into thinking you never turned the car off, they
generally use a 555 timer IC to count down to zero and then cut off.
Some models will include a double plug (usually
for different brands of car), so to install it all you do is unplug the
barrel, put the doover in it's place and plug the wires back into the
doover.
For the record though, I hate turbo timers. They
are a scam and you don't need one. If you take the last 2 minutes of your
drive nice and easy, it will give the turbo time to "warm down" anyway.
Who in their right mind will THRASH their car and immediately switch it
off without at least driving sensibly for a couple of
minutes???
Hi there all, I
recieved my turbo timer today. I have searched for the info I
needed. I now know it needs to be spliced into the ignition, I
will be will be fitting it to my 910 SSS with Z18et.
It is a
B-11 Starbo, I never heard of them, but hea it was really cheap, and it
looks really new, and hea it will do what I need it to do (I hope).
It has 4 wires coming out of it. One is black, with a clip
plug, so I am guessing that is the earth.
Then there are three
wires in a plug, don't really care about the plug, but there is 1 green
wire, one blue wire and one red wire.
I am guessing red is
power.
Where do the other wires get spiced into?
Or have
I got the power wire mixed up? No I didn't get a manual as it came
out of another car.
Any help will be good.
Even better,
any one who has fitted a turbo timer into a SSS Bluebird, which wire did
you spice it into
Thanks in advance.
Rick
