Thanks very much for the info.
Before I run out and grab a new master cylinder. I want to be sure I
actually need one :)
Now i'll have a look tomorrow Terry and see what the stamp says (where
abouts is the stamp located as it's going to be pretty difficult to locate
next to the sr).
Also with the incorrect master cylinder would the brakes be next to useless?
They were spongy as I stated but they also weren't very powerful at all... I
could stop but I didn't have much faith in them...

No such thing as a stupid question when it comes to car stuff (;-
The size relates to the cylinder bore diameter - most cylinders will have
it
stamped on them and usually still in inches. The only Datto one I can
think
of that doesn't have the size on it is the 3/4" Aussie 180B Girlock
cylinder
(usually rusty cast iron piece of crap) and these are a total waste of
time.
Try to use a Japanese cylinder, Tokico (my pref as they have excellent
internal proportioning when used with 4 discs), Nabco (good), or Sankyo
(average but OK).

Yep, Chris is on the money with this one.
You might get away with a 13/16" off a Sunny, but 7/8" from 240K or
Skyline
would be about right for that combo. 3/4" will be way too soft and
usually
too much travel no matter what you do in the way of adjustments.

You should probabally be using a 7/8 mastercylinder.
Also did you bleed the mastercylinder itself?

I took the little datto for a test drive yesterday ( video here

Anyways, the brakes were very very soft. I've checked all the lines
and there doesn't appear tobe any leaks. I bled them and couldn't
find any pockets of air at all.
My setup
Front
VL Turbo / Verada discs
Rear
R31 Skyline
180B mastercylinder and booster
The vacuum line from the manifold to the booster seems fine. I was
also thinking that perhaps i've hooked up the VL Turbo calipers
incorrectly? From memory they only work if they're fitted on the
correct sides. Does anyone have pics of their setup?
