Ya, first thing I'd do is go to a dealer and ask for the service log on the car.
If no engine replacement is listed, the rods are only like $200 each, and a 
gasket set is another $200. So it's up to you whether you want to cross your 
fingers and drive, throw in a set of rods for insurance, or sell it.
