under the circumstances, i would not be opposed to my ex wife having hit the
kid with a stick.  i  did not know it was illegal until she was lectured by
the school police the next day.  had i known it was illegal, i'd have
informed of this and then warned her that in the future she would have to
use another method as i would not continue to be tolerant of what is deemed
illegal treatment, regardless of my personal feelings on the issue.

as for my potential "neglect to report", i am not interested.  i think there
is a lot larger case of the issue of the civil liberties of innocent
children, no?
