Had to read this one again before it occured to me.
It is not harmonic, the vibration starts at about 55mph where its just
noticable and gets worse as speed builds. At 65 its terrible. I like the idea
of a slipped belt in a tire...

If it seems like a "harmonic" vibration e.g. occurs at certain speeds
but not others it could be as simple as needing the tires properly
spin-balanced. That's usually pretty inexpensive at any shop that has
the equipment.
