My 95 Taurus was made in '94.
When I bought it in '01 it had a very old looking Motorcraft battery, which died
completely in 2002. I'm 99% sure it was original equipment. I'd say if the
battery in your '99 is a Motorcraft, it's time for a new one. Is your battery
tray larger than the existing battery?
The yellow Maxx batteries at Walmart seemed to be one of the better deals when I
was pricing batteries last summer. The Duralast at Autozone didn't keep their
prices down as well when raw materials went up.
