I think the only possible advantage of the "flush" is a more complete change of fluid. The new fluid won't be as contaminated by the remaining old fluid. Probably cheaper and better to just change the fluid more than once. Use your oil sucker doodad to extract the fluid up the fill pipe 2 or 3 additional times after the initial change if you want to further dilute any old remaining oil. Not terribly difficult, or expensive.

Plus if they're lucky there will be latent damage that'll bring you back for a replacement transmission some time in the future, beyond when you'd suspect a causal relationship. Just do a standard filter and fluid change. Done right it's the best thing for you. DIY is pretty safe, if you take some care to do it right.
