Would someone remind me what years were the self-destructing wiring harnesses? I didn't commit it to memory because I have no intention of buying an MB newer than 87, at least for the forseeable future. I ran across a guy who was looking at an E300D in chicago, and I want to warn him about the wiring harnesses. It has been recently established that 96-99 have paint issues.

As far as I know the earliest wiring harness problems were in 1992 (the "S" class cars). The 124s had problems when they put in the M104 and OM606 engines. The 201s had NO problems. I don't know if ANY of the 202s had problems.
