He would even polish shims to get just what he wanted. The real spec is 1 bar, but the the book value is 3 and when you buy rebuilt, they may have a 5 bar difference. So, if you buy rebuilt, you should get them tested before installation.

I bought a set of 6 from Rusty for my SDL, and just put them in, and they were ok. It was an extra couple of days and 100 miles to get them tested first, so I just stuck them in and hoped.

How closely are the pop pressures matched? Iirc spec is 3 bars, but the boxes ones were only at 5 bars. Dr.MB may have mentioned something about seeing a slight benefit by matching to within 1bar...

 I would say the pump should be put on a bench and injectors rebuilt.

 Euan, also there should be bushings on the exhaust->trans mount.
