Max, I'm on my second '95 E300D and I believe these things seem to take a while to warm up. My old 300 TD, a naturally aspirated 123, always automatically started the heater blower at the same spot less than 1.5 miles from my house, at any OAT (outdoor air temp). On the other hand, these NA 606's take at least 3 or 4 miles before the temp gauge rises enough to audibly kick up the fan. Even with a brand new water pump and thermostat.
