I've seriously considered unplugging mine for the winter a couple times now.
When its -15F and the dammed thing won't go up in the morning I get pretty
annoyed. This year when it did it to me I got halfway to work, flipped the
antenna switch back and forth and up it went. Last time (2 years ago?) I had to
get a hairdryer out after I got home...

On my '87 300D, I put it up and unplugged the motor.  Yeah, yeah, I know.
Now, I'm a real Fink.  How dare a REAL MB guy do such?  'Specially a
stickler for originality?  Well, it "bothers" me, but not much.   ;<)))))
