The lower acceleration inherent in a lower ratio is offset by the 300D's extra piston. The 300D turns slower at Interstate speeds (75 mph here in New Mexico) and, ostensibly, has a higher top end (though I haven't tried that out). Fuel economy is running about 23.5 mpg -- not as good as I'd like it but tolerable. Craig
