Thanks for the replies. I cant make out any ID but it does have a recessed circle and uses cotter keys to hold the pens in. Based on this it should be a Bendix. I've reconsidered rebuilding the calipers and replacing hoses due to the expense. Will just (hopefully) replace the screw, bleed the system and check the vacuum at the booster. Maybe this will be all it takes to get good brakes.
