If you carry concealed, you better be ready to use if you draw. Last week some idiot kid decided to shoot up a local mall. Had an AK and side arm. There was a fellow shopping with his family carrying concealed. Idiot drew on the shooter, but spoke, instead of pulling the trigger. He is just now getting out of ICU with probability of severe brain damage. I suspect he had that prior to the bullets hitting.

Had the same thing happen in my 240D - was cruising at 55-60 and I saw a brown shape - then the shape was flying toward the side of the road and my
sheetmetal had been "customized" by Bambi.

Yeah, the gun situation is Canada is tragic. They're making "self-defense" a bad word - look at New Orleans to see the govt cannot *always* take care of us. 95% of the time the police arrive *after* the criminal has committed the crime & left. With all the bad press the gun gets for hurting people, the press *never* talks about the huge number of times a gun prevents or stops a crime - often with never firing a shot. It's been estimated people use guns between 700k and 3 million times per year typically just by showing
the presence of a gun is enough to make the bad guys go elsewhere. The
Center for Disease Control did a study and found they could not prove all the gun law did any good, Not waiting periods, not background checks - none
of the Brady Bill laws - could be shown to reduce crime. But in every
state where concealed carry was permitted crime went down. But the press doesn't talk about non-exciting situations - saying 4 people were gunned down gets page one - someone lifted his shirt to show he had a 9mm there and frightened off 3 gang members doesn't rate a mention - no matter how many
times it happens.

I'm sincerely sorry about the registration scheme in place in Canada - it was supposed to cost 2 million and now it's over a Billion when they decided
to stop counting the costs. ;-\ Sadly, the removal of guns from law
abiding people in Canada will cost more lives than it saves.

Sorry - I know many of you don't want to hear about such things.

Sincerely,
Larry T (78 240D)

Coming home from the grocery store this morning (actually around noon) my wife counted 24 deer grazing beside the road on a minimalist golf course. This is in the city and within 2 miles of my home. It is getting silly. There are too bloody many of the things and fewer and fewer hunters here
(in
Canada). The government has made it more and more difficult to own or
acquire firearms and the result is that many people have just given up.
Now
we just kill deer with our cars. Had a client in this afternoon who hit
one
inside the city limits on Thursday evening and did quite a number on his late model Honda Civic. Good thing he was alone and did not have anyone in
the passenger seat. The deer's butt took out the passenger side window
totally. The right side wing mirror ended up in the back seat and the
passenger front seat is covered in broken glass and deer droppings.
Windshield stayed intact but is very badly cracked all over. Will need a
new
passenger front fender, and front door. Back passenger door can likely be repaired. All this at about 60 to 70 kph. (about 40 - 45 mph). He never
saw
it at all before it hit him.

Randy

In the 30's there were only 500 whitetail left in MO (approx). Now
there's
a gajillion. I think it was a conspiracy by the powerful auto body repair
lobby...Pittsburgh Plate Glass probably funded the the project. :-)
