You could mail the AR to yourself general delivery at an AK post office. USPS won't allow handguns unfortunately. I don't know if you could UPS it to yourself for counter pickup. The problem is that UPS only takes handguns by overnight air, which is expensive to AK and I bet they don't want it sitting there for a couple weeks while you're enroute. They might also refuse to give it to a private person, even if it's the same guy who shipped it.
