Why is he a hero, was just doing his job. I reckon the people who designed and built the equipment have greater status, without them doing their job 100%, Neil might well have been blown to bits. Is every person who has gone into space a hero? Or only Neil because he was lucky enough to be the first person to walk on the moon. Sure strapping yourself to a rocket full explosive stuff is pretty gutsy but it is a calculated risk. A fireman who goes into a burning building, knowing that he/she might not come up, is a hero. A truck driver who runs his rig off the road to avoid hitting some drunk in a car is a hero.
