I just think about all of the 1975 450SLs I've looked at that had roasted fuel 
lines, D-Jet issues, etc.

When I was considering buying one a few years back, I can't count the number of 
1975 models I saw - tons of them. They were almost all roasted under the hood 
from the cats.
