No bad, no bad. Looks like we've ended up with just on two and a half feet of snow, drifts up around 4 feet here and there like where my 190D is parked beside the garage. Its quit completely now but it'll be a day before we're completely cleaned up.
My snowblower is a champ it chewed and spat this stuff with no problems. We were lucky, it was in the teens all night so the snow is soft and powdery and throws easily. The worst was making that first pass, the snow is deeper than my snowblower is tall and it would tend to build up around the box that houses the carb, that box is open on the bottom (thank you Ariens for no proper airbox) and the carb would occasionally get a slug of snow which told me it was time to back up and take another run. I proved that my '78 240D (victim of the pre-Christmas massive overheat) will successfully start at 16F but I wouldn't want to try it a whole lot colder. The 15w50 plus Lucas oil additive in the crankcase probably aren't helping that but it does seem to keep the engine from making scary noises. Haven't tried firing up a snowmobile what with most of 'em buried. I've got my Wankel Panther in the garage needing a gas line, I may give it a shot, riding is going to be dicey what with the snow so soft. Supposed to warm up just above freezing on Monday, I may wait for the snow to harden up some then. -Curt Date: Sat, 9 Feb 2013 12:21:48 -0600 From: Dieselhead <126die...@gmail.com> To: Mercedes Discussion List <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Subject: Re: [MBZ] BLIZZARD!!!!
