If someone cares for their pets, perhaps they should not allow their pets to trespass on others' property. Once your pet is on my property against my will, it is violating my rights (just as if you trespass on my property you are violating same rights), and has no rights of its own (well, animals don't actually have rights - technically what has occurred is you have forfeited your right to have your animal as your unharmed property) - so I can (morally speaking, not practically, see next paragraph) do to it what I want - let it roam, forcibly remove it, or end the problem in other ways. Granted, legally the trespassee probably can't do much, but then again legally you can't do much when there's a robber in your house, either - even places that do have "make my day" laws usually really restrict their applicability (which is sad, blatant bs). But, the main point is, responsible pet owners keep their animals under control and don't let them wander on people's cars or whatnot - and they shouldn't be upset when others are annoyed by this kind of irresponsibility, and express that annoyance in allegedly inappropriate ways.
