I owned TWO 1950 DeSotos in 1967 - 1968, one that I purchased for $98
from a Minneapolis dealer and the other for $75 from the son of
Admiral Richard E. Byrd (yes, THAT Adm. Byrd).  I sold each for $10 or
$20.
