W123 or W124?
W124 the axles bolt to a cup on the side of the diff, you don't have
to open it up. Hexhead bolts, though.
Not a bad job except that the exhaust has to be dropped on the
driver's side to get the half shaft out.
Just changed one on my brother's 300E a couple weeks ago.
