Fat cells produce chemicals that have a calming effect. Recent research also found that fat produces an "antibiotic" that allows fat peoples skin injuries to heal more quickly. A study done years ago found that fat retirees who did not diet, lived longer than those who lived on a diet in order to keep from getting fat. Natural fats in food, particularly UNadulterated Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids are essential to human life. Every cell needs them to survive. The lack of these FAs leads to many diseases.
