Dumb Question of the Day (week?): Can diesel fuel be cut (substituted for) with ethanol and if so, to what degree?
Yes, and I don't know. MB did make these indirect injection engines so that they could happily eat rather poor third-world fuel, but I don't know how far one could take it nor the implications for the longer term. In the absence of better information one could perhaps extrapolate MB's original 25% gasoline 'contamination' rating to other liquid combustibles. It's your engine! -- Jim
