Hmm, I've got CentOS downloaded already, might give it a try.

Yup the 32-bit EFI is fun. However, I know that the 32-bit EFI Mac Pro 1,1 will
boot 64 bit Red Hat / CentOS. Because I've been using my CentOS Live DVD to try
and get some data off a drive. So GRUB *will* do it, maybe MacPup doesn't
include the 32-bit GRUB loader since they assume this is replacing a 64-bit OS
X install?

Some of you might remember I found a small cache of Macbook Pro Core2Duo
machines. I'd intended to install MacPup Linux on one of them and use it as a
machine for camp, mostly for pulling pictures off game camera SD cards.Turns
out that most (all?) Core2Duo machines use a 32bit EFI even though its a 64bit
machine. The hoops that have to be jumped through are not insurmountable but
definitely annoying... Gee thanks Apple...
