I recall one of the many issues with Cape Wind was the potential for Teddy K to ram his boat into one of the machines when he was out there sailing from ere-ah ere-ah Hyannispowot ere-ah.

But Teddy's been sober now for like 8 years so all is good in that regard.

There is a big installation planned for Nantucket Sound off Cape
Cod, so they will be in the neighborhood.  I'm not sure what the
status is, there was a lot of opposition to the project.

Nantucket back in the 80s had machines up in a few places, and
there is still one at one of the farms there (or was a few years
ago).  Power is very expensive there, it used to be diesel
generators that supplied the Island, now they have a cable from
America to supply them, so wind made economic sense under pretty
much any subsidy (or not) scheme. Problem is that the things are
noisy (infrasound too) and tend to act as a Bird-O-Matic which is
somewhat incompatible with a relatively densely-packed area (at
least where they could be located) and wildlife area.  So they
fell out of favor pretty rapidly.
