OK, I'll bite. What do you think your odds are if you buy off ebay without actually being able to inspect the car? I'm not that much of a gambler. If the price is cheap enough to justify the worst case scenario then maybe but I'd hate to pay anything significant on a "hunch" that a cheap fix will make it good.
