Kaleb Striplin suggested an electronic leak detector. The cheapest one I found, Toolsource.com, was about $175. I'll keep that in mind if cheaper
methods don't work.

I have one I bought at a pawn shop for considerably less.  I also
have another one (same source) that detects hydrocarbons.  The pair
of them was less than the above figure.
