The KDP cracks the timing case, no obliteration. Engine generally continues to run unaffected, but leaks oil badly. Spendy to fix, a lot of labor involved.
I knew that it obliterated something, much of one's budget! Of course, anytime a vehicle is in the shop at $85-100/Hr, things add up in a hurry!
