Interesting to hear of this trend. Wonder if it's owing to the apparent
popularity of new VWs on the market today.

I was surprised to see the most recent commercials featuring the likes of
John Mayer and Slash (in separate commercials) jamming out on electric
guitars plugged into their VDubbs.

Then you have that guy who has played Russian characters in several movies
playing some sort of neo-nazi/pimp guy.

On a related note: I spotted a new VW model the other day - a two door
convertible, I believe - different than anything I've seen from them.

By the way, how's the Rabbit selling?

I was thinking about finding a VW Thing, talk about insane prices! I
found
one locally with lots of surface rust, rusty pans, seized engine, and all

tank! The guy wanted $1000 for it, and I kindly told him NO. I could

better luck finding a Mercedes fixer for that kind of money.
