That is definitely true. Drivers are the biggest factors in the driving and there are plenty of people who don't have a clue about their vehicles other than "yeah it's got 4wd" and no clue about how the 4wd or awd works and what effect that will have. So they pretty much just say "yeah I got 4wd so snow doesn't bother me" with no clue about what kind of tires they have or how much tread is on them... How long does it take to STOP that 3 ton Suburban full of passengers with 1/10th tread left?

When I lived in Houghton, MI, there were sometimes places I couldn't get to because I didn't have enough traction to climb the hills. Driving was otherwise reasonably safe, I just didn't have enough grip in my 2WD van. Unfortunately, a lot of people have unreasonable expectations of what 4WD can do, and they get themselves in trouble. When we had a snowstorm here in the Seattle area earlier this week, I counted a lot more SUVs in the ditch than passenger cars. My guess is the SUV drivers were driving with less caution due to their "superior" vehicles, or maybe went out when passenger car drivers decided to stay home. _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
