I think many people think of a car as being "old" once they buy one or two
parts, and the cost of those parts is greater than the value of the car.
:-) I've driven lots of older cars as daily drivers. People will often say
they can not drive an old car as they couldn't trust it. I ask them, when
they last went on holiday, how old did they think the plane was they flew at
40,000 feet in, over sea or ocean. :-) hee hee.

FNGs?

It's hard to get my head around the idea of a 140 being a car that only
"old
school guys" would know how to fix, but I guess I have a distorted
perspective. I am regularly surprised that "normal" people (not car
geeks)
think of a car from the '90s as ready for the junk yard (as opposed to
practically brand new) and that one from the '80s might as well be a Model
T
as far as its suitability as a daily driver.
