Hello: To run a normal size house without the air conditioner and electric stove, you should have a 10KW generator. If you can find one with 1800 rpm vice the new 3600 rpm you will get better regulation of the output voltage and longer life out of the engine. The generator should have a low oil cutoff not just an alert.
