I did a little checking in the technical data books -- unfortunately,
there are no acceleration nor fuel consumption numbers for the SDL.

'87 300SDL 126.125 max speed 119 mph. (2 persons).

'87 300D 124.133 0-62mph 10.9 sec. (2 persons), top speed 125 mph.,
city - 28.4 mpg, @ 55mph - 42.5 mpg, @ 75 - 32.6 mpg.

"90 - "93 300D 2.5 124.128 0-62mph 12.3 sec. (2 persons), top speed
121 mph., city - 28.7 mpg, @ 55mph - 44 mpg, @ 75 - 33.4 mpg.

Both 124s have a 2.65 read end ratio. The SDL has a 2.88.

In my experience, the SDL feels faster than the 300D 2.5, but slower
than the '87 300D.

The fuel consumption numbers are per directive 80/1268/EEC, and the
numbers for the 300D 2.5 are very close to what I usually get, with
the exception of the anomalous last trip where I got 37 mpg. @ 70 mph.
I've never driven one of these at 55 mph., so have no idea if its'
possible to get over 40 mpg in a 124 Diesel.

As the others have siad, that SDL has no boost.
