Being mixed in with mostly friendly drivers is one of the best things about living in Jacksonville [other than being able to live with my wife, of course...]. Coming from South Florida where drivers are aggressive and mean this place is great. It is easier to get out of our road onto the main road if the traffic is backed up, because the next car almost always will let you out. You can even get across 2 or 3 lanes of traffic to turn left if you need to [I have never tried that, but I see it all the time]. Yes, it occasionally makes me several seconds or even a minute later getting somewhere. I can live with that. That being said, when someone tries to stop in the middle of a busy road that is just plain dumb - though legal.
