Microcenter and Fry's have some cheap mobo/processor combos, then get some memory, and you can use your older stuff with a new faster board. You might need a new video card too, the new boards are all PCI-E, and that might demand a more powerful power supply. But you can kind of sneak up on stuff if you want to fool around with it.
