I would always rent a more fuel efficient car when I was traveling long 
distances for work.  I would probably break down and replace my 25 year old 
furnace (assuming natural gas was also increasing at an alarming rate).  I 
would walk to lunch.  I would buy more stocks of companies in oil and gas.  I 
would wash and wax my big ole Expedition, disconnect the battery, and wait for 
a long time till I drove it again.
