Try stopping prime95 and let the CPU cool. Then run Advanced / Benchmark. Hopefully you will get timings before the CPU heats up and thermal throttling kicks in. If your timings match the benchmark page, then your machine is capable of achieving the timings others are seeing. If that is the case, then there are two possibilities. The timing you see running an LL test is an "average" time vs. the benchmark which shows "best" time. Either some OS setting or installed software is causing cycles to be wasted, or thermal throttling is kicking in. I do not know how to isolate the problem. As an aside, you would be the first to report thermal throttling so maybe your heatsink isn't installed properly or a case fan is dead or some cables are interfering with the airflow. _________________________________________________________________________ Unsubscribe & list info -- http://www.ndatech.com/mersenne/signup.htm Mersenne Prime FAQ -- http://www.tasam.com/~lrwiman/FAQ-mers
