I would have assumed that the default behaviour of Mesa would be to implement
the OpenGL specification, which is to clamp color values to the range [0,1].
If users wish to perform some non-standard implementation, I would also assume
that the Mesa community would implement this as an ARB-type extension as is
typically done in the Open-GL community.
Is there a reason the Mesa community is choosing to specifically deviate from
the documented OpenGL standard? I would consider this a major philosophical
issue, as I basic OpenGL code to run on both hardware and software and it does
not take too complex of an example with the current implementation to get
differnt renderings on a hardware set that complies with the standard vice
Mesa offscreen rendering in this case.
