Hi,
I have two machines running FC5 but with XOrg packages from FC6. One machine
has a Radeon 9200 and
the other has Radeon 7000 video cards, and both are using the git Mesa drivers.
However, I cannot
get compiz running on either of these machines:
- If I enable AIGLX and run compiz with indirect rendering then the X server
crashes.
- If I disable AIGLX and run compiz with direct rendering instead then the
screen turns white
until I relaunch metacity from a console.
- If I disable AIGLX and run compiz with indirect rendering then I get the
following message:
compiz: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work.
compiz: Failed to manage screen: 0
compiz: No manageable screens found on display :0.0
The "composite" extension has been enabled in xorg.conf, and I am using "EXA"
instead of "XAA".
The X-Server is using Mesa-6.5.1, and is loading its own DRI module from the
/usr/lib/dri
directory. GL clients (like compiz) are loading their own (git) DRI module from
the
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri directory instead, along with git's libGL.so.1.2.
Does it matter that X clients are using a different version of Mesa to the
Xserver? Or could
this be a bug in git Mesa, please?
