I've used GLwCreateMDrawingArea on various Red Hat releases and it's always worked, and this is pretty well eastablished and standard code. I'm not sure what happens exactly, but I guess GLwCreateMDrawingArea get's mapped to GLwCreateM2DrawingArea via the include files - I haven't checked this, so not sure. The GLwCreateM2DrawingArea function is in my RHEL5.4 libraries, just not in my Fedora libraries. For the time being I have a workaround by just using my RH libraries on Fedora, so at least the code is working OK.
