One of the big problems that I have, I don't know how the u-boot mechanism is
support to work.

What components (such as the pmufw) need to be present, where the place the
device tree, how it should be compiled, and how the disk image needs to be
constructed. This is all pretty fundamental to trying to support this workflow.

If we (collectively, thanks to the others who also offered to help) can write up
how this should be configured and working that would give me a basis to start
doing testing.

The next step of course is actually having the machine configuration(s).

Yes, one thing we've discussed is what to do with the meta-xilinx-contrib. Much
of the stuff was added without us really knowing what it is, who to contact or
how to make sure it's still working.

I really would like to keep the contrib layer, but we're going to have to sort
out some of the issues around that. I'm open to suggestions how best to enable
these machines, while keeping them in a state where they are useful to people
long-term.

When I've done some of this in the past, we had setup a requirement that each
contributed machine required a named contact, some basic documentation on what
they were intended to be used for, etc. The only thing the contact would be
required to do is to occasionally answer questions, and probably verify that
it's still functional.

Thanks!
