alright, so considering the point I reached and that I did not include any PMU
firmware in the build, should I suppose that including a pre-built binary might
solve my issue? I do not have one so I guess I will have to generate somehow
(Xilinx tools? is there any repository available?) and then add it.

Should I then create the directories to match the path where bitbake looks for
that binary (i.e. /poky/build/pmutmp/deploy/images/zynqmp-pmu/) and copy the
binary I previously generated with the name " pmu-firmware-zynqmp-pmu.bin" ?
That looks a bit artificial but if that solves the issue, now I will only have
to focus on finding out how to generate the binary for the PMU and that would
be great news because I don't know for how long I can still hide from my boss
that building a basic image with no customization at all is taking me ages
hahaha

I totally agree with the guys who mentioned that investing some effort in
documenting the build process properly would be worth it. Without this mailing
list I would have given up a few days ago but your answers kept my hopes up
even though I still did not succeed :P Easier said than done, but if I can help
with my experience as a newbie (typical errors, steps to follow from a
scratch...), I will be pleased to make the process a bit easier for the next
inexperienced developer who steps into yocto + meta-xilinx.
