Great this is very helpful info Sandeep. I appreciate it! I must have some other issue causing my problem as I do have a 10G core in my PL design. I think I have a hunch that it is an order of operations issue in my own device-tree.bbappend. It depends on pl.dtsi but I get build failures indicating that pl.dtsi does not exist. Perhaps my function that depends on pl.dtsi is being called before the file gets generated and that is causing a premature failure. I greatly appreciate the info that you've provided, it takes the ambiguity out of where to look for my problem.
