The <group> tag is just the "group" textStyle, commonly used in
HyperCard to bind multiple words so that they're returned together
from the clickText. Doing something like that to bind together words
and then doing a lookup based on that is really your only option.
I've heard of people doing stuff like putting a white-colored
character at the end of a word to simulate embedding hidden tokens,
but that technique seems like it would be very brittle and so I can't
recommend it.
Support for embedding hidden information (like HREFs) in fields is on
the feature-request list, and is currently scheduled for 2.4 (which
unfortunately is only in the design phase at this point because we've
got our hands full with 2.3).
