Apache Server and Metacard CGI's

Anyone out there who can help me set up Apache on Linux to run Metacard
CGI's?

Linux and Apache are new to me and it will be a few days before I get any
books on the subject. I have installed Linux, got the server up and running,
and Metacard downloaded and installed. I think I need to set up Apache to
recognise the .mt file extensions as CGI's linked to the Metacard app. I
guess it is to do with Mime types, but some playing around with this has not
led to any results yet.

Any help appreciated.
