Yes - if on the Mac, set the creator type of the file to something that
isn't recognised by MetaCard, if on Windows remove the three character
extension from the file name.  And you can hide the file if you want to.  If
saving changes to the stack on the Mac, you'll need to set the stackFileType
global property to whatever creator code you have assigned to the file to
prevent it getting turned back into something the Finder recognises as a
MetaCard document.  MetaCard itself doesn't care what extension or file type
a file has, so long as it knows the path to the file it will work
regardless.
