I sent an e-mail to the MacUSer editor about this article and
received a long and detailed response from their reviewer.

He clearly believes that MetaCard is a powerful tool somewhat let
down by its current user interface in two respects - a) the interface
presented to the developer, and b) its lack of complete adherence to
Mac U-I guidelines.

He seems to be in touch with both MetaCard Corp and CrossWorlds about
developments such as Revolution and suggests that once it is
available MacUser will review it.

He's clearly a long term SuperCard users who's only requirement is
for Mac-based delivery. In which case, he finds the more Mac-centric
approach and support provided by SuperCard to be that much more
attractive than MetaCard. Also, for a Mac-only developer, he
considers the significant price differential between SuperCard and
MetaCard to be too much.

Whilst I don't feel it's right to simply reproduce his e-mail to me
here, I have paraphrased his comments above and I will include his
final two paragraphs to me as I think they make an important point...

>Peter, I fully understand the frustration of knowing you're using a
>great tool but never seeing it publicly recognised. I know MetaCard
>is *very* powerful, and once you're up and running - and have

>I don't feel is ready for mainstream exposure. That's one of the
>reasons I'm eager to review the CrossWorlds product, Revolution,
>when it is finished.
>
>(BTW, I did briefly mention Revolution, after checking public
>disclosure dates with Kevin from CrossWorlds, in a sidebar in a
>recent authoring tool review. The times they are a-changin'!)

I now stand back and await the responses!

Cheers
Peter
