I have a MC app that plays QT movies. The main card contains a number of
buttons, each of which plays a different movie. If a movie button is
clicked while one is already playing, the scripts stop the current
movie, change the filename of the player object, and start the new
movie. The QT movies are on a CD (not the hard drive) since some are
fairly large.
The client reports that testing on a Dell Pentium III/500, it plays a
single video segment fine, then does nothing else. Clicking a button to
play another movie while one is already playing locks up the app. If the
user goes to another card and then comes back to the main card, none of
the buttons will play a video. The MetaCard app won't even allow a force
quit; had to force restart.
Does anyone have a clue what's wrong? On my Pentium III/450 the CD with
the QT movies runs just fine. Are there any specific control panel
settings to look for, or other file settings to check? Anything else you
can think of?
