This is, I believe, because MetaCard is not really closing the
stacks. They remain in memory until everything shuts down. The reason
for this is that all platforms except the Mac can easily handle the
memory issue, and it speeds up the process of re-opening the stack if
you should do this. I'm sidestepping the pedagogical issues.
If you want, another way to make the stacks automatically open to
card 1 each time you open them would be to set their destroyStack to
true. But if what you've done is working for you, great, that's what
you should do.
