several years ago, I purchased a unique Georgia Tektie from Hal Povenmire. He wrote: "...I have been working on the eastern side of the strew field. While in Emanuel County, I learned of a Georgia tektite which has been fashioned into an artifact or arrowhead by paleo-Indians. It is a rather rare specimen as only about 6 Georgia tektites have shown any signs of being worked by ancient people." The arrow head is about 25mm x 20mm x 3.5mm in size, and weights 3.07 grams. You can see an image of the specimen here: <http://www.ris.at/homes/raab/arrow.jpg> As it is the only Georgia tektite specimen in my collection, I would rather like to trade this for a more typical, natural Georgia tektite. On the other hand, an advanced collector of Georgia tektites might be happy to add this rare specimen in his or her collection.
